Economic Outlook Forum 2025 Presented by Scotiabank
As Canada navigates the complexities of record population growth, businesses and families are grappling with high costs, slow economic growth, and a stagnant standard of living. While the Bank of Canada has begun reducing rates, interest rates are still at elevated levels and are constraining economic activity. The recent rate cuts signal progress in reducing inflation but ongoing economic challenges—particularly the rising cost of inputs and business affordability—remain top priorities for our members. Locally, despite our strong global brand, our Benchmarking Greater Vancouver report reveals that we face challenges in prosperity and productivity. A clear economic vision is much-needed now, as highlighted in our provincial election survey results.
In this context, the Greater Vancouver Board of Trade's 36th annual Economic Outlook Forum, presented by Scotiabank, aims to provide some answers on what businesses in the Greater Vancouver region can expect from the local and national economy in the year ahead. Join us to gain insights from economists, industry experts and political commentators as we explore pathways to advance productivity and prosperity.
