The quality of our lives is inextricably linked with the quality of our relationships.

Developing friendships, career contacts and a community to serve lead to both professional success and a meaningful life. Being effective at meeting people and building strong connections are therefore essential skills. Being great at this is not easy, though.

Skillful interpersonal networking is not just about planning, strategizing and conversation techniques. We also need to have astute emotional intelligence. We must cultivate the ability to get past our fears by becoming naturally confident with anyone, in any setting.

This session will highlight some of the key skills and personal mastery components of the expert networker. Alvin Chan, an executive coach and leadership consultant, will share a curated set of thoughts on this important topic, and provide plenty of time for a personalized experience through open Q&A.

Presentation topics include:

  • Best practices for approaching anyone
  • Leading conversations that build trust and connection
  • The emotions that hold us back: fear of rejection and impostor syndrome
  • How to navigate even the most intimidating environments
  • The pathway to fearlessness networking fluency
