Becoming conscious about unconscious bias

morning-leader.jpg

Unconscious bias is the way we look at and encounter the world around us. It influences our decisions and can cause us to behave in ways that can stifle diversity in leadership.

This was a key topic discussed at the October 2015 B.C. Economic Forum but it still unknown to many. Results from the Forum will be released at this event followed by an interactive panel discussion.

Discussion Topics:

  • Is unconscious bias limiting your career or the advancement of others?
  • How can we increase awareness of unconscious bias to influence behavioural change?
  • What leadership practices can help combat unconscious bias?

In advance of the event, attendees are encouraged to complete the Harvard Implicit Bias test.

Following the panel presentation, guests will have the opportunity to discuss the topic further with others at their table.
