TransLink’s Annual Address: Investing in Transit To Drive Our Economy
Metro Vancouver is growing at an unprecedented rate, with one-third of our population relying on transit every week to stay connected and on the move. Demand is soaring, and our transit system is bursting at the seams.
Public transit isn’t just a way to get around — it’s the engine driving our region’s economic success. It connects people to job opportunities, enables businesses to thrive, and lays the foundation for future growth. By reducing travel times and household costs, while boosting affordability and quality of life, transit plays a critical role in making Metro Vancouver one of the best places to live and work.
But the future of our transit system is at a crossroads. To keep pace with growth and ensure our region remains one of the best places to live, TransLink must secure a new funding model. The choices made today will determine whether TransLink can continue to deliver world-class transit service, while investing in the expansions that will propel our region into the future.
Join TransLink CEO Kevin Quinn as he shares our bold vision for the future with vital investments that will drive Metro Vancouver’s economy forward.
