Bold Networking - Presentation and Q&A Session with Alvin Chan
Alvin Chan
Being effective at meeting, connecting and building relationships with people is an essential skill.
Life can be so fulfilling when we foster meaningful friendships, professional contacts, and a community we can serve. However, developing these skills take time and practice.
Books and training programs that focus on developing networking skills usually focus almost entirely on the technical aspects of planning, strategizing, and communication techniques. But that’s just part of the equation. Without astute emotional intelligence and refined interpersonal skills, desired results can be elusive.
This session will feature a personal mastery approach to the topic of networking. Alvin Chan, an executive coach and expert advisor of interpersonal effectiveness, will present key concepts and tools that will enhance networking efforts of all kinds.
The discussion around personal mastery will include subjects such as:
- Cultivating the superpower of presence and being
- What fear of rejection actually is and how to dance with it
- Revealing authentic confidence through courage and experience
- Balancing intentions with non-attachment to outcomes
Technical skill topics include:
- How to work any room
- Best practices for approaching and exiting
- Leading conversations that build trust and connection
- Increasing follow up response rates
