In a world of rapid change and significant demands on our time, resources and people, the business, non-profit and community sectors are coming together to make a change. They are doing so with the focus of driving new approaches to not only get business done, but to work towards solving some of our most complex social issues in society.
As part of B.C. Social Enterprise Month, The Vancouver Board of Trade is pleased to welcome the Honourable Michelle Stilwell, Minister of Social Development and Social Innovation. Minister Stilwell will discuss the landscape of social innovation in British Columbia and share the province's vision for moving social innovation forward, as well as discuss the ever-increasing role business is taking in this movement.
Following Minister Stilwell's remarks, panellists from the private and non-profit sectors will speak to:
- The role that leaders can play in applying the power of their core business and vision to benefit their organization and society more broadly.
- How social enterprise, traditional business, and a new form of corporate structure (Community Contribution Company) are successfully aligning social values with their business imperatives.
- How organizations have developed a new value proposition for their markets by further catalyzing progress around key social challenges in our province.
Panellists Include:
The Honourable Michelle Stilwell, Minister of Social Development and Social Innovation, Province of British Columbia
