About the speakers:

Nazma Lee
Nazma Lee is a senior legal counsel in the Corporate Finance department of the British Columbia Securities Commission. Since joining the BCSC in 2009, Nazma has worked on various policy projects, including on capital raising exemptions, corporate governance, proxy voting, and takeover bids. Prior to joining the BCSC, Nazma spent two years with an international law firm in London, UK. Before moving to London, Nazma practiced securities law at a large national firm in Vancouver.

Elliott Mak
Elliott Mak is a senior legal counsel in the Corporate Finance department of the British Columbia Securities Commission. Elliott works on developing policy in the exempt market, including the securities crowdfunding rules. Elliott is also part of the BC Securities Commission Tech Team that actively engages in outreach to the BC technology community. Prior to joining the BCSC, Elliott's legal practice included providing legal advice to both senior and venture issuers in areas such as capital raising and M&A.

Both Nazma and Elliott work in BCSC's Corporate Finance Division, which oversees capital raising and corporate disclosure for B.C.
