VANCOUVER, B.C. — Greater Vancouver Board of Trade President and CEO Bridgitte Anderson has released the following statement in response to news that the United States will soon allow fully vaccinated Canadians to cross at land borders.

“We welcome the announcement that the United States is planning to allow fully vaccinated Canadians to cross land borders for non-essential travel in early November. The decision recognizes Canada’s world-leading vaccination program, and it is very welcome news for business. With the clarity provided today, businesses can plan to resume travel, families can be reunited and vaccinated travellers can return to support local jobs, all while keeping British Columbians safe.

Our governments must build on this momentum and work together to provide a universal and internationally recognized vaccination certification system, ensure Canadians with mixed-dose combinations are eligible for entry and reassess pre-departure PCR tests for fully vaccinated travelers.”
