VANCOUVER, B.C. —The Greater Vancouver Board of Trade’s Scale-up Centre for SMEs (SCS) has announced the 22 nominees for its inaugural Business Reinvention Awards.

The new awards, which are in their first year, recognizes businesses who have reinvented, adapted, and shown resilience in the face of all challenges and barriers that we faced in 2020.

The awards are divided into five major categories: the Reinvention Award, Excellence in Collaboration Award, Healthy Workplace Award, Environmental Leader Award, and Domestic Growth Award.

The winners will be announced at a special virtual ceremony on Friday, February 26, where The Honourable Mary Ng, Minister of Small Business, Export Promotion and International Trade and The Honourable Ravi Kahlon, Minister of Jobs, Economic Recovery and Innovation, will deliver remarks.

“Almost overnight COVID-19 changed the way we live, the way we work, and the way we interact with the world around us. The impact of the virus has been keenly felt by businesses who have admirably adapted to the new normal in real-time, working tirelessly to ensure the safety of their staff and customers.

Despite the challenges however, Greater Vancouver’s entrepreneurial spirit has shone through. Businesses have adapted, innovated and collaborated to not just survive the immediate impact of the pandemic, but to thrive in spite of it. We’re delighted to recognise just some of those businesses through our new Reinvention Awards, and to celebrate the spirit of reinvention and revitalisation that will play a key role in Greater Vancouver’s economic recovery.” Bridgitte Anderson president & CEO Greater Vancouver Board of Trade
