GVBOT responds to reopening of direct-to-consumer B.C. wine sales to Alberta.
For Immediate Release
VANCOUVER, B.C — The Greater Vancouver Board of Trade welcomes today’s announcement to reopen direct-to-consumer B.C. wine sales to Alberta. Bridgitte Anderson, President and CEO, of GVBOT has issued the following statement:
“British Columbia, Alberta and indeed all of Canada is better when we enable more freedom and access to markets across provincial boundaries.
This announcement brings welcome stability to B.C.’s award-winning wine industry. Together, consumers in Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba consume over 62 million litres of B.C. wine each year.
We are thankful that B.C. Premier David Eby and Alberta Premier Danielle Smith worked diligently to support the free-trade relationship between our provinces, which is integral to the economic well-being of both.”
