A Conversation with the Danish Parliament’s Business Committee
Competitiveness, collaboration, and ease of doing business are shared priorities for businesses both in Denmark and British Columbia. On June 19, we had the pleasure of hosting a delegation from the Danish Parliament’s Business Committee, led by its Chair Louise Schack Elholm and members, for a conversation with representatives from the Greater Vancouver Board of Trade and our subsidiary, World Trade Centre Vancouver.
At the meeting, we exchanged thoughts on what it takes to build strong and productive economies on both sides of the border. We shared some of our work under the Agenda for Economic Growth, and explored issues like innovation, trade, and productivity. A key takeaway was Denmark’s focus on cutting red tape and maintaining an industry-driven agenda to fuel growth.
Although B.C. and Denmark may be geographically distant, we share many strengths, values, and economic interests. In fact, Copenhagen — as a major port city — was one of the peer cities against our region in the Benchmarking Greater Vancouver Report 2024.
We thanked the delegation for visiting our office during their first trip to Vancouver and welcomed their interest in strengthening collaboration with the Vancouver business community.
