Indigenous Consultation & Engagement Training
Greater Vancouver Board of Trade is pleased to be working with Indigenous Corporate Training Inc. to offer Indigenous Consultation & Engagement training. Indigenous Corporate Training is generously providing this course at a subsidized rate for our members.
During the 3-hour, live-guided virtual training course, you will gain knowledge and understanding of:
- How to build on the elements of consultation
- The difference between consultation and engagement
- What constitutes accommodation
- Ways we can strengthen our consultation practices
- The use of the Risk Assessment Tool
- How to prepare for questions your Indigenous counterparts will ask you
- How to deal with issues related to Western Science and Indigenous Knowledge
- Practice protocol and interactions
The course is aimed at non-Indigenous learners with little to no knowledge of or experience working with Indigenous Peoples.
