British Columbia produces clean and reliable energy, exports our resources abroad, and increasingly is seen as a leader in clean technologies. Amidst the context of heightened geopolitical risks and the need to pursue net zero targets, Canada can provide leadership and sustainability in the production, delivery, and consumption of energy.

GVBOT’s annual Energy Forum, presented by Bennett Jones, will focus on Canada’s role in the global market, and how we can leverage our strengths and capitalize on opportunities to advance our domestic energy sector and promote sustainability around the world.

Panel 1

Canada’s Role as a Stable Supplier

As energy quite literally fuels nearly every facet of our economy and society, it is imperative that Canada and the world secure each aspect of the supply chain that produces and delivers energy. Canada has been a secure supplier of natural resources, though our energy has primarily been exported to the United States.

This panel will seek to discuss key questions such as how we can work interprovincially and with the United States to create a common vision of a North American energy economy that advances prosperity and sustainability. Panellists will also think big about how Canada can create prosperity at home by being a responsible and secure supplier of energy to the world.
