About the Speaker:

A born and raised Vancouverite, Karm Sumal started Vancity Buzz back in 2008 after seeing an opportunity to connect locals, share untold stories, and celebrate the community. What started out as a passion project has grown into one of the largest digital media publications in Canada, expanding from coast to coast.

Now under the name Daily Hive, Karm and his team have been included in Vancouver Magazine's Power 50 for the past two years in a row, and have received DVBIA's Emerging Leader Award. Their latest venture is the addition of Colony Digital, a full-service agency that offers a dynamic range of services, including search engine optimization, website development, videography, and graphic design.

Karm earned a degree in Business Administration at Simon Fraser University, followed by a CPA designation. When he's not sending emails or attending meetings, you'll likely find him playing video games, eating burgers, admiring street art, or watching The Simpsons.
