Earlier this summer the Federal Government announced a series of proposed changes that will impact how small businesses operate and manage their money; specifically, how small businesses owners pay tax, how the business is allowed to manage money/capital, and how family members can engage in the business and/or use a successful business to plan for retirement.

If implemented as currently proposed, this will have far-reaching, unintended consequences for all of our small business/entrepreneur Members, impacting investment and staffing decisions, altering retirement planning and placing another costly regulatory burden on running a small business.

That's why this month, the Greater Vancouver Board of Trade joined business organizations from coast to coast to call on Ottawa to #HitThePauseButton on these proposed changes and extend the consultation period with the business community.
