Crash-on-Airport Emergency Response Exercise

yvr-emergency-volunteer-header.jpg

The Vancouver International Airport is in need of 150 volunteers to help Police, Fire, Ambulance, Airline pilots, Crew, and 20 more agencies exercise their plans and procedures to respond and save lives.

As a volunteer you will help make their 600-person, live full-scale exercise realistic for emergency responders and participating agencies.

Volunteers acting as passengers must dress for cold winter weather, as the wind & temperatures in exposed areas at the airport are always much colder than expected. Food will be provided to all volunteers.

Who can Volunteer?

  • Age: Volunteers must be 18 years of age or older.
Volunteers 12 and over can be accepted, if accompanied by a parent who is also volunteering, for the entire duration.
  • Languages: Multilingual volunteers who can speak fluently in a language other than English are encouraged.
  • Supervisors: We need 15 safety supervisors for our volunteer groups, so please indicate if you would be interested in a volunteer position focused on coordinating a volunteer group.
