Adapting to Change: Positioning Canada as an Innovation Leader

Hon. Navdeep Bains

The global economy is in a prolonged period of low growth. Meanwhile, technology is reshaping the way Canadians access information, buy goods and services, interact with each other and build communities. It is creating an open playing field among countries, giving their citizens new-found ways to collaborate and compete globally.

Entire industries are being transformed as markets and businesses race to adapt. Meanwhile, countries around the world are responding to climate change by moving more quickly to a low-carbon future. Canada must be on the leading edge of these changes.

The way forward is to act on a bold new vision: to build Canada as a global centre for innovation — one that will create good-paying jobs for the middle class, drive growth across all industries and improve the lives of all Canadians.

Join federal Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development Navdeep Bains as he outlines the Government's vision. Business leaders and innovators are also invited to participate in a question-and-answer session with the Minister.
