The Honourable Pierre Poilievre

On Monday, March 16, The Vancouver Board of Trade will host The Honourable Pierre Poilievre, Minister of Employment and Social Development, Minister of Democratic Reform. In his first keynote address, since being appointed Minister of Employment and Social Development, the Honourable Pierre Poilievre will outline his vision for a number of key economic files. His remarks will focus on how lower taxes and increased job training will keep our economy strong.  A question and answer session will follow.

About the Speaker

Pierre Poilievre was first elected to the House of Commons in 2004 and re-elected in 2006, 2008 and 2011.

Mr. Poilievre was appointed Minister of Employment and Social Development and Minister for Democratic Reform in February 2015. Previously, he was appointed Minister of State (Democratic Reform) in July 2013.

He was appointed Parliamentary Secretary to the President of the Treasury Board in February 2006, Parliamentary Secretary to the Prime Minister and to the Minister of Intergovernmental Affairs in May 2008 and Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Transport, Infrastructure and Communities and for the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario in May 2011.
