The Vancouver Board of Trade is pleased to be hosting global futurist, Ian Goldin, Director, Oxford Martin School at the University of Oxford. Goldin's keynote address will focus on key global issues affecting our common future and what we need to do to meet these challenges.

Ian leads a unique interdisciplinary group of over 300 top researchers focused on the big looming issues of the next 100 years.

Ian will share his perspectives on the extraordinary transformation occurring globally and the most pressing challenges of the 21st Century. His observations will include how key drivers of change such as technology, demographics and globalization will shape the next 25 years.

About the Speaker

Professor Ian Goldin is the founding Director of the Oxford Martin School at the University of Oxford and the University Professor of Globalisation and Development. The School brings together over 300 leading scholars in interdisciplinary teams to address critical global challenges.

The latest of his 19 books are "The Butterfly Defect: How globalization creates systemic risks and what to do about it" (Princeton University Press, 2014) and "Is the Planet Full?" (Oxford University Press, 2014).

Ian has been knighted by the French Government and nominated Global Leader of Tomorrow by the World Economic Forum. He has extensive private sector experience, including as an independent non-executive director for a number of listed companies.  His non-profit engagements include as a Trustee of Comic Relief, the Overseas Development Institute and other charities.
