Mining in the 21st Century

As part of BC Mining Week 2015, The Vancouver Board of Trade is pleased to welcome back Karina Brino, President and CEO of the Mining Association of BC, for her annual keynote address.

2014 was an important year for the mining industry in B.C. A number of significant events bolstered our commitment to continuous improvement, transparency and community engagement.  

The B.C. mining industry has a long history of using best practices, research and technology to be leaders in responsible natural resource development. As an international centre for mining, B.C. benefits from an abundance of local expertise leading the globe in innovation and best practices and delivering on our commitment to care for the environment, consultation with First Nations and collaboration with government.
